چکیده

Despite previous studies indication that Myocardial Infarction mortality rate decreases considerable after treatment, evidences point to the fact that decrease in mortality rate is only short time of thirty day duration and there is no significant change in long term mortality rate of myocardial infarction incident patients. Any significant change in the long-term mortality rate of one year to three years duration was only as a result of age and severity of underlining disease process. Myocardial infarction is regarded as one of the most prevalent disease in cardiovascular disease and it occurs as a result of blockage in the blood flow. Age, gender and prevailing health condition of a patient seems to play an important role in the prognosis and survival of a patient. Women with age greater than seventy five years old seems to have less mortality surviving rate than men, and incidence of first myocardial infarction tends to results into more reoccurrence of myocardial infarction accident and increased mortality rate. This review examined the mortality rate of myocardial infarction patient long-term survival after treatment.

HEART RATE: A PREDICTOR OF EARLY MORTALITY IN PATIENTS WITH MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

A number of epidemiologic studies have reported a positive relationship between heart rate, cardiovascular disease and mortality. To examine the correlation between heart rate and mortality after acute myocardial infarction (AMI), 2147 patients hospitalized in coronary care units in Isfahan were investigated in a cross-sectional study. Their heart rate was measured according to an electroca...

Effet of low-dose Aspirin on mortality of Acute myocardial Infarction

SUMMARY Between Aug. 1982 and March 1984, In a prospective, randomized trial approximately 24 hours after the onset of acute myocardial, infarction (MI), the influence of Low dose aspirin (120-150 mg/day, just during inhospital phase), on inhospital and post- hospital mortality rate was studied in 62 patients, and compared with control group. The two groups were comparable with regard to age,...

Prevalence of Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Reperfusion Therapy and Mortality in Patients With ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Elderly and Middle-ages

Objectives The prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors is different in the elderly and middle-aged. Therefore the present study aims to compare the prevalence of risk factors affecting ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), type of treatment, and mortality rate in these two groups. Methods & Materials This retrospective cohort study included 1 071 elderly and middle-aged ST-elevation my...

Comparison of the Success Rate of Treatment with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention PCI versus Thrombolytic Treatment in Patients with ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Local Hospitals in Iran

Background and Objective: Acute myocardial infarction (MI) is caused due to coronary artery occlusion and divided into two forms of ST-elevation (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation (NSTEMI) myocardial infarction. This study aimed to determine the success rate of treatment with primary PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) versus thrombolysis in the establishment of perfusion and to evaluate the sho...

Echocardiographic assessment of myocardial infarction: comparison of a rat model in two strains

The purpose of this study was to induce myocardial infarction (MI) and compare the echocardiographic parameters and mortality ratio of Lewis inbred and Wistar outbred strain before and after the procedure to help choose the best one for MI studies. In this study MI was induced in 46 Lewis and 34 Wistar by occlusion of left anterior descending artery (LAD). Doppler, two-dimensional (2-D) and 2-D...

Prognostic Impact of Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction Risk Index on Hospitalization Mortality of Patient with Acute Pulmonary Embolism

Introduction: Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is one of the deadly cardiovascular diseases. One of the indexes proposed in these patients for risk stratification is the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) risk index (TRI), which includes three parameters of systolic blood pressure, age, and heart rate. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of TRI on in-hospit...
